Kenneth Wayne Maready was convicted today of second degree murder, felony eluding arrest, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and seven misdemeanors in the February 2005 death of Kay Stokes.
Officials say that in February of 2005, Maready stole a car in Durham County while he was drunk and ran two trucks off the road, killing Stokes. Maready has at least six other convictions of driving while intoxicated in North Carolina and other states.
