CLOSET CLEANING TIPS

Story Tools

* Go with your gut about whether to let something go.

* Ask yourself: Have I worn it within one year? Does it fit? Do I feel comfortable and confident when I wear it? Can a charity benefit from this more than I do?

* Consider having a friend or family member help you review clothes.

* Store nostalgic items in a separate place with other memorabilia. Don't let it take up prime real estate in your closet.

* Take old clothes to a charity thrift shop or make money by taking clothes to a consignment shop or an eBay service.

* Get an accurate value on your donations by using computer software such as It's Deductible.
