PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS: 2005: Started at second base for American League in first All-Star Game; posted career highs in batting average (.314), homers (18), triples (seven) and RBIs (73); 2004: Led the American League with a team-record 50 doubles, the most by a switch-hitter in AL history; doubled in a team-record seven straight games Aug. 9-15; 2003: Promoted from Triple-A Ottawa on May 21 after Jerry Hairston Jr. was injured and played in 112 of final 119 games of the season; hit safely in first seven games and 14 of first 16; 2001: First major league hit on June 14 in his second big league at-bat.
