Dental care offered free in Goldsboro

Free dental care will be available at The Mission of Mercy Dental Clinic in Goldsboro on Friday and Saturday.

Volunteer dentists, dental hygienists and dental assistants will provide free cleanings, exams, extractions and fillings to those who don't have dental insurance. The clinic will take place at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 901 Harris St., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

People may pre-register from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Wayne Community College, but it is not necessary. For more information, contact the office of Dr. O.R. Stovall III at 919-735-3431.

Rape, suicide story Wednesday at NCSU

The Delta Delta Delta sorority will sponsor "Kristin's Story: A Story of Acquaintance Rape and Depression" for the N.C. State University community Wednesday.

This co-educational rape-education program will begin at 7 p.m. in Stewart Theatre. Admission is free and doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Kristin Cooper, a Baker University student and member of Alpha Chi Omega, committed suicide on New Year's Eve 1995. "Kristin's Story" is about a young woman's acquaintance rape and subsequent suicide as told by her mother, Andrea Cooper.

Cooper, a graduate of Florida State University, has shared "Kristin's Story" at more than 300 campuses and conventions.
