HOLLY SPRINGS -- The Wake County Sheriff's Office charged a Holly Springs man Thursday with abandoning two horses and leaving one malnourished.
Robert Bullock of 6412 Sarrucca Court has been charged with two counts of abandonment of animals and one count of cruelty to animals, according to arrest warrants filed Thursday at the Wake County Magistrate's Office.
Authorities accused Bullock of abandoning a dun gelding and a black gelding at 813 Wilbon Road in Holly Springs, court records show.
Bullock told court officials that he had prepaid someone to take care of the horses while he was out of town, court records show.
The animals are in the custody of Wake County Animal Control, according to the warrants. Bullock was in the Wake County jail Thursday in lieu of $1,000 bail.
