Amtrak schedule disrupted by heavy rain

closeRALEIGH -- Due to heavy rain and flooding in the Northeast, Raleigh train schedules have been changed or canceled today.
Train 92, the northbound Silver Star to New York, has been canceled at Raleigh. Passengers will be bused to Washington, D.C. No alternate transportation will be provided to return to New York.
Train 80, the northbound Carolinian, will run from Charlotte to Raleigh and will be terminated at Raleigh. No alternate transportation north of Raleigh will be provided.

Train 79, the southbound Carolinian, is running from New York to Washington. No service will be offered between District of Columbia and Raleigh. This afternoon, Train 79 will operate on its regular schedule from Raleigh to Charlotte.
Trains 89 and 90, the Palmetto, which normally operates between New York to Savannah, Ga. have been canceled. No alternate transportation is provided.
Service is scheduled to return to normal operation at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, barring further weather-related problems.
