CHAPEL HILL -- The Orange County Rape Crisis Center will host a panel on sexual assault and the news media at its annual meeting at 7 p.m. today at the Siena Hotel, 1505 E. Franklin St.
The panel will be moderated by Jane Brown, a professor at the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Journalism and Mass Communication. The panelists are Frank Stasio, host of The State of Things on WUNC-FM; Linda Williams, a deputy managing editor at The News & Observer; and Irving Joyner, a professor at the N.C. Central University School of Law.
The center also will present awards to Meredith Mayer, Jean Templeton and The Arc of Orange County for contributing to its mission "to stop sexual violence and its impact through support, education and advocacy."
