DURHAM -- Kristin Price of Raleigh set a course record for the Carolina Godiva Track Club's annual 20 km Coach Bubba run Saturday. Price finished the course, which started on Pettigrew Street and included the American Tobacco Trail, in 1:12:07. Marc Jeuland of Carrboro was the men's winner, at 1:05:46.

The winners of the four-mile race were Devin Swann of Raleigh at 20:30 and Joan Nesbit Mabe of Chapel Hill at 23:51.

More than 800 runners took part in the races, which raise money for running charities and, this year, for the Triangle Rails to Trails Conservancy, said Tom Kirby, one of the race directors.

The Carolina Godiva Track Club, an organization of about 450 recreational runners, created the Coach Bubba event to memorialize the passing of Bruce Koenig, a club member and running coach who inspired many who took up running under his guidance.
