Building supplier makes acquisition

Stock Building Supply has bought Canyon Drive Lumber, a supplier of construction materials in Amarillo, Texas, for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 1959, Canyon Drive Lumber had sales of $32 million in 2004 for products including lumber, plywood, roofing, siding, windows, doors and millwork.

Raleigh-based Stock Building Supply operated 267 locations in 30 states with sales of $4.1 billion in its 2005 fiscal year, which ended July 31. Stock Building Supply is a subsidiary of Wolseley of Theale, England.
