DURHAM - StrikeIron acquired the Web services assets of DesertSoft, an Arizona software company.

StrikeIron will add DesertSoft's products to its Web Services Marketplace, an online venue where businesses can purchase Web-based tools such as do-not-call lists. DesertSoft's Web services include address, phone number and e-mail address verification tools.

Financial terms of the transaction weren't disclosed, but a StrikeIron spokeswoman said the company gained about 100 new customers through the deal. No employees from either company were affected.
