Boy, you made it difficult to select just one of you as our garden diary writer. But, finally, we did: Catherine Bollinger of Pittsboro.

Bollinger, a self-confessed plantaholic, has been gardening in the area for more than 40 years. For 19 years, she and her husband Thomas Scheitlin have lived on five acres in northeastern Chatham County, where they grow everything from flowers to vegetables to herbs. We'll hear from her starting March 29.

We couldn't let the rest of you drop by the wayside, so we've set up a place over the online "garden fence" where you can gather and drop in your own diary snippings. Mosey over to share.triangle.com and share what's going on in your garden -- in words and pictures. From time to time, we'll print entries in the paper. We can't wait to hear from you.
