A Triangle wine vendor recommends wines in three price ranges, $10 or less, $10-$20, and more than $20. This week's come from Daniel Lieurance at Great Grapes at 1237 Kildaire Farm Road in Cary.

Deal Domaine Skouras White Blend (60 percent Roditis, 40 percent Moscofilero), Peloponnese, Greece, 2007, $9.75. Clean lemon, citrus, and spice flavors balance with floral and citrus aromas. Perfect for grilled chicken, salads, and any light fish.

Moderation Cazin Cour-Cheverny white 100 percent Romarantin, Loire Valley, France, 2006, $14.99. This is what great white wine is supposed to be. Vibrant yet viscous, showing a balance between fruit notes and chalky soil; floral and savory notes. Perfect for grilled vegetables or steamed mussels.

Splurge Terre Rouge Roussanne, Sierra Foothills, California, 2004, $26.75 ($20.99 case price). Full-bodied, yet not heavy. The best white we've had out of California this year, and from one of our favorite winemakers, Bill Easton. Chardonnay drinkers become Roussanne drinkers after trying this wine. Matches well with salmon, fried chicken, lamb chops.
