Location: Cary, 2616 Kildaire Farm Road

Event: Trail maintenance, installation of a stream strainer

Bring: Shovels, rakes. "Simple lunch will be provided."

Time: 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Note: There will be an afternoon workday, from 1 to 3 p.m., sponsored by the preserve. To register for that event or for more information, call 387-5980 or e-mail joy.logan wheelbarrows would be appreciated for this event.

Location: Falls Lake, Meet at Rolling View State Recreation Area off N.C. 98 west of N.C. 50.

Event: New trail construction, expansion of existing Falls Lake Trail

Bring: Water, bag lunch, sunscreen; breakfast provided

Time: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Sponsor: Friends of the Mountains to Sea Trail

Location: Durham and Orange counties, Fews Ford Access at end of Cole Mill Road (a little more than five miles north of I-85)

Event: Trail construction, maintenance. "Work will include walking long distances, carrying heavy objects, using hand tools, and exposure to heat, biting insects and poisonous plants."

Time: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Location: Cary, Go west on High House Road, which becomes Green Level West Road past- N.C. 55; trailhead is 1.6 miles, on the left

Event: Hike/walk on new 2-mile stretch of greenway

Bring: snacks and drinks prowvided

Time: 10 a.m.-noon

Sponsor: Town of Cary, Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources
