Each week, a Triangle wine shop recommends wines in three price ranges: under $10, $10 to $20 and more than $20. Wines mentioned are available locally; prices are suggested retail.

LOWES FOODS, THROUGHOUT THE TRIANGLE

Deal: Segura Viudas Brut, nonvintage, $5.99. Hints of smoke, cocoa and dry spices combine with ripe apple fruitiness and citrus and mineral flavors; a perfect match for simple grilled shellfish of any kind.

Moderation: Biltmore Estate Methode Champenoise-Brut, nonvintage, $14.99. This refreshing blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier offers a good balance of citrus and strawberries with hints of honey and raspberries; serve with oysters, seafood, berries and Brie.

Splurge: Moet & Chandon White Star, nonvintage, $42.99. A balanced blend of three vine varieties (Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay) that reveals soft aromas of peach and a crisp, refreshing finish; serve with fish dishes or a variety of appetizers, including smoked fish, cheese and crackers or pate.
