Slane & Slane has a new way for you to show off your North Carolina pride.

The jewelry designers have created the new Dogwood Collection just in time for spring blooming.

The dogwood, of course, is North Carolina's state flower and is said to symbolize loyalty, tradition and history. It's also the state flower of Virginia and Missouri.

It's a clever new idea from the Slane & Slane founders, sisters Heath Slane and Landon Slane. Even though the two manage their growing jewelry company from different coasts (Heath in Los Angeles and Landon in New York), they're originally from High Point. And they frequently make trips home to North Carolina, not only to see family but to attend trunk shows, most recently at Elaine Miller Collection.

Get the Dogwood in sterling silver or 18-karat gold as a pendant or a charm on a bracelet. Or buy a pair of Dogwoods as 18-karat gold or sterling silver earrings on a French wire or omega with pave diamonds.

But the Slane & Slane Dogwood won't be in bloom for long. It's only available in 2008.

Slane & Slane is sold in the Triangle at stores such as Bailey's Fine Jewelry and Elaine Miller.

New shoes and bags

Kristen Greczyn has been busy adding new brands of shoes and handbags for spring to the already impressive lineup at her Kristen's Shoe Boutique.

Look for new handbags by Loeffler Randall, Rebecca Minkoff, Treesje, Pa-Tou-Tou, Alexis Hudson and Kooba.

New shoe lines include Miss Trish of Capri, Belle by Sigerson Morrison, Juicy Couture and Eric Javits (who also is known for his straw hats and handbags.)

Kristen's is located in the Arboretum shopping center in Cary.

Spring at C.T. Weekends

C.T. Weekends is planning its annual spring fashion show.

Among the designer names expected on the runway (which are all sold at C.T. Weekends): Walter, Cynthia Steffe, Claude Brown, Cat-B Handbags and exclusive designs by Catarina Birkel.

The show, which will include lunch at Saint Jacques Restaurant, will be held Feb. 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests also will hear from Fran Sadler from Medlin Davis, who will discuss fabric care for silks, linens and blends.

Admission is $30 and includes the show, lunch, a gift bag and a donation to Performance Edge, a nonprofit performance training program in Wake County.
