Women's basketball teams often get together to watch favorite TV shows -- Duke loves "America's Next Top Model" -- but Boston College has part of its future tied up in "American Idol."
BC recruit Ayla Brown is one of the remaining 10 women on the popular Fox show. More women will get booted off tonight.
"We talked to her last night," BC coach Cathy Inglese said. "Everyone called in 20 times last night. I think she's in a situation where she's handling the pressure really well."
Inglese said that her 9-year-old niece said she didn't want Brown to win so that she would play for the Eagles next season.
Brown, a 6-foot guard from Wrentham, Mass., is one of three recruits for BC next season. She was the 2005 Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year.
