NOTEWORTHY: Exams just ended, and now N.C. State's basketball players face their biggest test of the season -- No. 10 Alabama.
The Tide is 9-1 with a 72-60 win over Iowa. The lone loss came at Notre Dame, 99-85. Bama boasts a balanced attack with Alonzo Gee (16.4 points per game) and Jermareo Davidson, who is averaging 16.1 points and 10.6 rebounds.
Davidson, a 6-foot-10 senior, nearly recorded a triple-double in Saturday's win over Southern Mississippi with 25 points, 11 rebounds and nine blocks.
State (7-2) will not have point guard Engin Atsur, who still is recovering from a hamstring injury. But wing guard Trevor Ferguson, a transfer, is eligible.
