Program advocates for disabled people

People with disabilities and their family members who want to help change public policy for disabled people can apply to participate in the 2009 Partners in Policymaking training program. The deadline to apply is Dec. 31.

The training program, funded by North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities, is free to those selected. Travel and accommodations are provided as well.

What: 2009 Partners in Policymaking training program

When: The first of eight two-day sessions will begin in late February

To apply: Applications are available at www.ncpartnersinpolicymaking.com or by calling Freida Moore at 1-800-357-6916 or 919-420-7901, ext. 223. Completed forms are to be returned to N.C. Partners in Policymaking, 3801 Lake Boone Trail, Suite 250, Raleigh, N.C. 27607.
