Raleigh’s Justin LeBlanc advances to ‘Project Runway’ finals
Posted by Brooke Cain on October 11, 2013
It’s official: Raleigh’s Justin LeBlanc will compete in the finale of “Project Runway.”
LeBlanc advanced into the final four on Thursday night’s episode, at the end of an installment that included the show’s beloved mentor, Tim Gunn, traveling to Raleigh to have lunch with Justin’s family and evaluate Justin’s line at his studio on the N.C. State campus.
At N.C. State, Justin showed Tim how he was using a 3D printer to make accessories for his black and white line -- curvy bracelets and necklaces that represent sound waves. Justin’s line, which he showed (along with other finalists and a few decoys) at New York Fashion Week in early September, represents his journey from deafness to receiving cochlear implants.
