  • Updated: SavingStar redemptions to be more difficult at Kroger

    Update: Harris Teeter, though it is now owned by Kroger, will NOT be included in this change, according to Harris Teeter spokeswoman Danna Jones.

    Starting Oct. 1, bargain-minded shoppers will have to jump through an extra hoop to collect their SavingStar.com rebates on items purchased at Kroger.

    Previously, SavingStar earnings have been tracked through the Kroger customer loyalty card, making it effortless for shoppers to redeem.

  • Future ‘Super Double’ coupon events unlikely at Lowes Foods

    Bad news for coupon shoppers who have remained hopeful that Lowes Foods would once again offer “super double” or “triple” coupon events. In an interview, Lowes Foods president Tim Lowe said that the special coupon events aren’t part of his company’s current mix of promotions to attract customers. “I never say gone forever but at this juncture, it’s not part of the strategy,” he said.
