CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - A university official says the slain student body president at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will receive the two degrees at this year's commencement ceremony.

The Herald-Sun of Durham reported Saturday that UNC spokeswoman Lisa Katz said Eve Carson earned degrees with highest distinction in biology and political science. A page in Sunday's commencement program will be about Carson.

The 22-year-old Carson of Athens, Ga., was found shot to death March 5 in a street near campus in Chapel Hill. Two men are charged with first-degree murder.
