RALEIGH -- The City Council held off Tuesday from making a decision about how to develop Horseshoe Farm Park.
The city's parks, recreation and greenway advisory board recommended construction of a recreation center and basketball courts on the land. But several groups and individuals say development should be limited and focus on nature and environmental education.
Council members say they are interested in finding other locations for the center and basketball courts. The council will consider the park again Sept. 19.
