Babette's bruschetta

Babette's bruschetta

CorrespondentMarch 9, 2005

I like the Grilled Mushroom Bruschetta from Babette's on Fayetteville Road in Durham. I never fail to order this when I go to Babette's. I would love to have their recipe. Is that possible?

-- P.B., Raleigh

It is indeed possible, thanks to the generosity of chef-owner Devon Mills. Mills shares his recipes for Grilled Mushroom Bruschetta and for Italian Baked Fish, a dish he developed specifically for cooking demonstrations, in order to dispel the fear shared by many home cooks of preparing fish. Both dishes deliver the fresh, uncomplicated flavors that are Babette's trademarks.

Both recipes are as easy to make as they are delicious, too. Make them, and you'll have the beginnings of your own private Babette's feast.
