Drive sends boxes to troops abroad

There are two weeks remaining to participate in a Holiday Cheer Box Drive to support U.S. troops serving abroad, sponsored by Mitchell Funeral Homes.

According to the Department of Defense, there are more than 250,000 U.S. troops serving in foreign countries.

Holiday Cheer boxes are available at Mitchell Funeral Homes, with a list of suggested items. Staff at the funeral homes will package and ship the boxes.

Preferred items include food, toiletries, and reading materials including puzzles, board games, cards and movies on DVD.
