Public's aid sought in solving break-in

Investigators are seeking information about a break-in that was reported Wednesday afternoon on Sturdivant Drive in American Village.

The victim was inside the house when she heard a knock on the door about 1 p.m. When she went to the door, a man pulled a mask over his face, rushed inside the house and grabbed the victim from behind. The intruder took jewelry, sports memorabilia and a laptop computer.

The man then apologized to the victim and told her to go in the bathroom and not come out.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 683-1200. CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.
