Today is the last day for Cary's door-to-door bus service to the general public.
On Friday, the town's bus drivers will start driving fixed routes and stopping at marked bus stops throughout town.
People can ride buses providing the new service for free until Jan. 31. After that, the town will charge riders a $1 fare.
The change does not end door-to-door public transportation for the elderly and the disabled in Cary.
