Stolen tractors, attachments found

From Staff ReportsDecember 31, 2005

An investigation by Person and Chatham counties' sheriff's offices has recovered nearly $38,000 worth of stolen property, the Chatham County Sheriff's Office said Friday.

Detectives from both agencies searched property owned by Desmond Patterson at 316 Vickers Road, Chapel Hill, and recovered two John Deere farm tractors stolen from the Roxboro area, valued at nearly $35,000, and tractor attachments valued at $2,700.

Patterson is cooperating with officers, and detectives were looking for two suspects Friday, the sheriff's office said in a release.

Detective Joseph Edwards is leading the investigation and expects that several arrests will be made. All items are in the process of being returned to their owners.
