Office closing early for computer work

The county's Department of Social Services office at 300 N. Duke St. will close early Thursday to replace its computer network.

The office will close at 2 p.m. and reopen at 8:30 a.m. the next day. The 220 E. Main St. office will remain open serving Adult Services, Child Welfare and Child Support Enforcement. Durham's Alliance for Child Care Access at 2634 Chapel Hill Blvd. will remain open for child-care subsidy applications. Those in need of services from the Journey to Success (WIA) Program, can contact Job Link at 560-6880.

Those with emergency medical prescription needs and same-day utility cutoff notices may be seen by the Adult Access Unit after 1:30 p.m. at the department's 220 E. Main St. office.
