17-year-old's story of shooting unclear

From Staff ReportsFebruary 1, 2006

A teenager who limped into WakeMed Raleigh Campus with a gunshot wound Sunday has stumped sheriff's deputies.

Jacobi Miles, 17, caught a ride to the hospital Sunday evening after taking a bullet in the leg. Doctors called the Johnston County Sheriff's Office once the teen told them he had been shot in northern Johnston County, said Tammy Amaon, spokeswoman for the Johnston County Sheriff's Office.

Amaon said that Miles' story shifted throughout the night and that deputies were unable to ascertain where or why he was shot. The shooting is under investigation, Amaon said.
