UNC-CH student robbed on campus

From Staff ReportsMarch 1, 2006

A UNC-Chapel Hill student told police a man stole her laptop computer early Tuesday morning as she was walking on Stadium Drive. Neither the woman nor a friend saw a weapon, and neither was injured.

The suspect was described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, 30 to 40 years old, with a graying goatee or beard. He was wearing entirely black clothing with a hooded sweatshirt. In addition to the laptop, the victim's wallet and cell phone were reported stolen.

UNC-CH public safety officials ask anyone with information to call the department at 962-8100, or Chapel Hill-Carrboro-UNC-CH CrimeStoppers at 942-7515. Callers don't have identity themselves or appear in court.
