* In a second round of discussions, board members didn't warm to either of two new choices for a downtown slogan presented by a Durham marketing firm: "Distinctive by design" or "Find your thrill." Board members asked the firm to provide a list of all the potential slogans it had brainstormed.

* The partnership is looking for donations of historic metal that evoke Chapel Hill's history for its planned "Giving Kiosk." Artist Callie Warner, working on the project with artist Jim Walker, wants to work small pieces of metal, old signs or old farm equipment into the design of the kiosk.
