About 300 gallons of hydrochloric acid spilled inside a pharmaceutical plant in east Raleigh on Sunday night. The spill occurred at a plant just off Poole Road where Ajinomoto, a Japanese company, makes amino acids.
Raleigh Fire Department Chief Tommie Styons said the spill occurred at 5:22 p.m.
Four workers who were inside the plant were transported to WakeMed and later released.
Styons said the spill was contained inside the building.
