Police searching for three robbers

Surveillance footage shows one assailant.

Police are looking for three men who robbed a man Sunday on Atlantic Avenue.

Mortimer D. Leach, 24, was walking to work near the 4000 block of Atlantic Avenue at 8:30 p.m. when he was approached by the trio, said Jim Sughrue, spokesman for the Raleigh Police Department. Two of the men had shotguns, he said.

Leach emptied his pockets and the three took off. Images of one of the suspects were captured on surveillance video from a nearby business.

Anyone with information about the incident or the identities of the robbers can contact Raleigh police detectives at 890-3555.
