From Staff ReportsApril 27, 2006

— An October trial date has been tentatively scheduled for the Chapel Hill teenager who is charged with shooting his parents to death last year, said Orange-Chatham District Attorney Jim Woodall.

Adam Sapikowski, 17, is charged with killing Alison Powell Sapikowski, 49, and James Dennis Sapikowski, 52, in April 2005. Police did not discover the bodies in the family's home until about two weeks later.

Orange-Chatham Senior Superior Court Judge Carl Fox is scheduled to preside over the trial, which could take two weeks or longer, Woodall said.
