Pedestrian's death under investigation

From Staff ReportsMay 31, 2006

— The Hillsborough Police Department was investigating the death of a pedestrian who was hit by a pickup truck Tuesday morning.

Brady Darnell Blalock, 46, of 558 N. Nash St., Hillsborough, was walking on Nash Street about 5:30 a.m. when the truck hit him, Chief Clarence Birkhead said.

Blalock was taken to Duke Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Nash Street doesn't have sidewalks, and Blalock was walking south with traffic, Birkhead said. The truck was traveling in the same direction, he said.

Police did not release the driver's name but said they did not suspect alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident. No charges had been filed as of Tuesday, Birkhead said.
