Vigil to remember lives of 2 slain men

— Mourners will gather at 4 p.m. Sunday to pray and recognize the lives of two men who were killed June 3.

Vigils Against Violence will meet in the yard of 1504 Beauty Ave. in Raleigh, where Jamel Jefferys, 19, was murdered in a drive-by shooting.

The group also will mourn the death of LeRoy Francis Jernigan, 40, of Clayton. Jernigan was shot to death while cleaning Circus Family Restaurant at 1600 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh police said.

To reach the vigil, follow New Bern Avenue heading east from downtown Raleigh. Turn right onto Tarboro Street, which becomes Rock Quarry Road, then turn left onto Lenoir Street. Turn right onto Bart Street and left onto Beauty Avenue.
