Public forums set on plans for library

From Staff ReportsJuly 4, 2006

— The public will get to comment this month on plans for a new public library to be operated jointly by Chatham County and Central Carolina Community College in Pittsboro. The public input sessions, hosted by library design consultant Phil Barton, will focus on features residents would like to see in the library.

Sessions will be at 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. July 20 at the Chatham County Council on Aging (Senior Center), N.C. 87 North in Pittsboro. Those who would like to attend must sign up in advance. Sheets will be posted at the three county libraries, the bookmobile and CCCC.

The library would be one of two new buildings at the community college, Provost Karen Allen said. The other is a new classroom building next door.
