Palmer to help build golf subdivision

Toll Brothers Inc., a national development company, recently announced it will team up with Palmer Course Design Co. to build an 18-hole golf course at River Oaks, a planned golf community in Pittsboro.

The Palmer company is owned by professional golfer and Wake Forest alumnus Arnold Palmer.

The 770-acre subdivision will have 1,546 houses and townhouses. It also will offer resort-style amenities, including the golf course, clubhouse, swim and tennis pavilion, and walking and biking trails. The development will include a shopping center and a proposed neighborhood school.

Toll Brothers has developed golf course communities across the country, including Brier Creek Country Club in Raleigh.
