Supper Clubb gets temporary reprieve

August 31, 2006

— A Wake County Superior Court judge gave temporary permission Wednesday for a North Raleigh restaurant to once again operate as a nightclub at night.

Judge A. Leon Stanback ordered the City to hold off for 10 days on enforcing a suspension of The Supper Clubb's permit to play amplified music.

Earlier this month, the city's Zoning Department suspended the permit of the Atlantic Avenue club, citing seven violations of the city's rules on amplified entertainment.

Stanback ordered the city to hold off enforcement pending a civil suit and appeal before the City Council next week.
