DURHAM — Two teenagers sustained minor wounds in drive-by shootings within about an hour of each other Wednesday night.
Latoya Carter, 16, was wounded in the shoulder at the 500 block of South Briggs Avenue. Several shots were fired from a light-colored vehicle at 9:48 p.m. She was taken to Duke Hospital.
Justin Parker, 17, was grazed in the head when several shots were fired from a vehicle as he ate doughnuts outside the U-Save store on Cheek Road. He was not hospitalized.
Durham Police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said investigators are looking into whether the shootings are related. They occurred about seven miles from each other.
