New school's attendance shaped

From Staff ReportsSeptember 22, 2006

As it prepares for Carrboro High School's opening next year, the Chapel Hill-Carrboro school board is deciding whether certain juniors will be required to transfer. Rising juniors living in a new Carrboro High assignment zone may be allowed to stay at their current schools.

The school board, at a meeting Thursday, also considered enforcing the assignment zone to reduce crowding at the two existing high schools. Seniors will not be required to transfer.

The board will vote at a future meeting.
