$ 1 million bail set in molestation case

— Bail was set at $1 million Friday during the first court appearance for a teacher accused of molesting five of his grade-school students.

Eric Grange, 43, of 519 Banks St. faces five counts of first-degree statutory sexual offense and four counts of taking indecent liberties with a child.

He was a teacher at the Montessori Community School in Chapel Hill at 4512 Pope Road.

Grange's next court appearance is slated for Oct. 5.
