Fire truck wreck injures woman

From Staff ReportsOctober 7, 2006

— A Durham fire truck swerved out of control on Old Chapel Hill Road on Friday, striking the vehicle driven by a Marion woman and slightly injuring her.

The truck was on its way to a fire about 1:40 p.m. on a rainy afternoon when it started to fishtail near the Farrington Road intersection, police said.

The back of the truck swung back and forth before striking a 2003 Mercedes driven by Robin Nicole Bradley, 22.

Bradley was treated at UNC Hospitals and released. Both vehicles were destroyed. No charges were filed.
