A bookish delight, light on fright

Staff WriterNovember 1, 2006

Upon the schools, a festive mood descends

to mark the day on which October ends.

At Creekside school, the sights were not so scary;

The goal instead, the teachers said, was literary.

So students acted out their favorite books;

They paraded through the halls to show their looks.

Rapunzel twirled her hair near Nancy Drew;

Ninjas, monsters and spies joined them, too.

Through the school, the spooky music flowed

to accent get-ups Mom and Dad had sewed.

Though the day wasn't Halloween by name,

the costumes, treats and games were much the same.
