Johnston 911 official takes national post

— Jason Barbour, director of Johnston County's 911 Communications Center, took office Wednesday as president of the 7,000-member National Emergency Number Association.

The nonprofit professional organization works on policy advocacy, technical and operational standards, certification programs and education.

In Johnston County, Barbour manages the coordination of communications services for police, fire and emergency medical services personnel.
