Board members get increases in pay

— Citizens on several county boards and commissions just got a raise.

County commissioners approved increases Monday to the stipends paid to the members of six boards.

School board members will now get $800 a month, a $250 increase, while that board's chairwoman will now get $900 a month, a $300 hike.

ABC Board members will now receive $200 a month, while that board's leader will now be paid $250 a month.

Members of the Planning Commission and the Board of Adjustment will get $50 a month, and Jury Commission members will now earn $25 a meeting. Members of the Equalization and Review board will get $75 a meeting. Its leader will be paid $85.
