From Staff ReportsNovember 28, 2006

— A Bullseye Pistol shooting league will go into action at the Wake County Firearms Education and Training Center, 3921 Old Holly Springs-Apex Road, beginning with an organizational meeting and first match at 6 p.m. today .

The league is open to any member of the range, and the fee to participate is $15. No registration is required, but additional information is available from Bob Den Bleyker at 851-5299 or bobdenbleyker@aim.com.

Bullseye Pistol is the classic pistol shooting competition where competitors shoot slow fire, timed fire and rapid fire at targets from 25 to 50 yards away, using only one hand.

Anyone may attend a league match as an observer at no charge. Ear and eye protection is required for participants and observers. Citizens who are not members of the public range can join by attending a range safety course held several times each month.

The range is open to the public on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Additional information on range membership is available by calling 303-0851 or by visiting www.wakegov.com/ccbi/fetc.
