Registration for Zebulon bond vote ends Friday

— Zebulon residents have until Friday to register to vote in the town's bond referendum March 6.

The town will ask voters for permission to borrow $5 million to purchase and renovate the Historic Wakelon School Building on Arendell Avenue to be used as office space for the town's parks and recreation, planning, finance and administration departments.

Friday is also the last day for voters to change their party affiliation or address for the coming vote. The voter registration form must be postmarked or hand-delivered to the Wake County Board of Elections by that day.

Absentee voting by mail is under way. Voters may request an absentee ballot from the Wake County Board of Elections by mail.

The request must include the voter's full name, address where registered, the address to which the ballot should be mailed, date of birth and signature of the voter. Mail requests to Wake County Board of Elections, P.O. Box 695, Raleigh, NC 27602-0695. Fax the request to 856-5864. The request must be received in the elections office by 5 p.m. Feb. 27.

One-stop, no-excuse absentee voting begins Feb. 15. Residents may vote at the Wake County Board of Elections, 337 S. Salisbury St. in Raleigh:

* 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 15 and 16, Feb. 19 through 23, and Feb. 26 through March 2.

* 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 3.
