Slain man possibly dead for days

— A man found stabbed to death Friday may have been dead for several days, police said Saturday.

Officers responded to a cardiac arrest call at a rooming house at 809 Park Ave. about 2:30 p.m. Friday.

They found David Clifford Cates, 62, dead in his room. He had been stabbed.

Detectives had not figured out a motive or filed any charges as of late Saturday afternoon.
