Schools seek teacher nominations

From Staff ReportsMarch 16, 2007

— The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools system is accepting nominations for the 2007-08 Teacher of the Year.

Anyone who wants to nominate a K-12 teacher from one of the district's 15 schools should contact the school's office for a nomination form.

All nominations are due to the principal's office by Monday. Nominees must meet the state's criteria: be a full-time, fully certified classroom teacher, having completed at least four years of experience. Guidance counselors, family specialists, media specialists and technology specialists are ineligible.

Each of the 15 district schools selects a Teacher of the Year, and from those 15, the district selects one to represent it at the state level.

For more information, contact the Human Resources Office at Lincoln Center, 967-8211, ext. 230.
